Death
On 19 September 2023, Meera Vijay Antony died by suicide. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan using her scarf, at her home in Chennai at 3 a.m. She was immediately taken to the Kaveri Hospital, where she was declared dead. Reportedly, she was suffering from depression and was getting treatment for the same.

- Her family members fondly called her Thangakatti (gold bar) and Chellakutty (an endearing soul dropped from heaven).
