Mukta Barve is an Indian actress, poetess, and theatre artist and producer. She is one of the most popular Marathi celebrities.

Mukta Barve was born on Thursday, 17 May 1979 (age 44 years; as of 2023) in Chinchwad, Pune, Maharashtra. Her zodiac sign is Taurus.
She did her schooling from Sir Parashurambhau College, Pune. She did her Bachelor of Arts with Drama from Lalit Kala Kendra, Savitribai Phule Pune University.

She belongs to Deshastha Brahmin Family of Maharashtra. Her father, Vasant Barve worked at a telecom company, and her mother, Vijaya Barve was a teacher in a school. She has a brother, Debu Barve who is a painter.
Career
Theatre
When she was in class 10, Mukta Barve made her acting debut with the Marathi play “Ghar Tighancha Asava.”
She went on to play the supporting roles in the Marathi plays, Aamhala Vegle Vhayache (2001) and Dehbhaan (2005). She appeared in a lead role (a student) for the first time in the Marathi play “Final Draft” (2005). She has acted in various Marathi plays such as Hum To Tere Aashiq Hain (2006), Kabaddi Kabaddi (2008), Chhapa Kata (2013), Lovebirds (2015), and Codemantra (2016).
In Television
Mukta Barve made her Marathi television debut with “Ghadlay Bighadlay” (1998) as ‘Champa.’ She further played small roles in the Marathi TV serials, Pimpalpan (1998), Bandhan (1998), Buwa Aala (1999), Chitta Chor (1999), Me Ek Bandu (1999), Abhalmaya (1999), Shriyut Gangadhar Tipre (2001), and Indradhanush (2003). In 2006, she appeared in a lead role for the first time in television with “Agnishikha” as ‘Kalika.’
She went on to act in the television serials such as Agnihotra (2010-11), Lajja (2011), Eka Lagnachi Dusri Goshta (2012), and Rudram (2017). She made her debut as a host with the Marathi game show “Amhi Marathi Pora Hushar” (2010). She also judged the Marathi Tv Show “Jhakaas Heroine: season 2” (2015).

She made her film debut with the Marathi film “Chakwa” (2004) as ‘Chaya.’

Other Works
In 2013, she founded her production company “Rasika Productions,” which is named after her friend and veteran Marathi actress, Rasika Joshi.
The banner debuted with the Marathi play “Chhapa Kata” (2013).
In 2014, she produced poetry based theatre program “Rang Nava” with the composer, singer, painter, and poet, Milind Joshi. She even recited her own poetry at the program. She has produced the Marathi plays, Rang Nava (2014), Lovebirds (2015), Indira (2015), Codemantra (2016), Deepsthamb (2016), Sakharam Binder (2017), Dhai Akshar Prem Ke 92017), and Challenge (2018). The income that she earns from her play ‘Codemantra’ goes to the Indian Army Welfare Fund. On 7 December 2014, the first death anniversary of Vinay Apte, Barve wrote an article reviving memories of Apte for the Marathi daily newspaper, Loksatta. In 2017, she made her debut as an RJ with “The Mukta Barve Show,” a women-centric show and focuses on the issues faced by women.
