Nicole C Mullen Biography
Nicole C. Mullen (Aileen Nicole Coleman) an African-American singer, songwriter, and choreographer. She won multiple awards is the only African-American artist to win the Dove Award for Song of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. To add on that, she mentors a group of girls called “The Baby Girls Club” where she mentors the youth through art.

Nicole began her music career when she joined a vocal group called Living Praise. In 1991 she recorded her first solo album “Don’t Let Me Go” Under the name Nicole, with the independent label Frontline Records and produced by Tim Miner.
In the 1990s she was a backup singer for Michael W. Smith and the Newsboys, writing for Jaci Velasquez, working as a dancer and choreographer with Amy Grant. Nicole also provided backup vocals for the music video at the end of the VeggieTales program, Larry-Boy and the Fib from Outer Space! and the opening of the VeggieTales presentation, Larry-Boy, and the Rumor Weed. In 1998 she was signed to Word Records by VP of A&R Brent Bourgeois. She then released her fourth album called “Talk About It”.

Mullen was born to Aileen Nicole Coleman in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised also in the same area. Her parents were attended their local church and grandparents on both sides of her family were Pentecostal preachers, so Nicole and her sister would sing for the Lord often.
She began singing at the age of 2 and gave her heart to Jesus when she was 8 years old and was writing songs by the time she was 12 years. Nicole knew she wanted to be a singer by the time she was in junior high school. Her guidance counselor warned her that singing would not make her rich but she insisted that she wanted to be a singer.
