Nidhi Razdan is an Indian journalist, TV anchor, and author. She became popular after hosting the news show ‘Left, Right & Centre’ on NDTV 24×7. After working for more than 22 years with the channel, she resigned from NDTV on 31 January 2023.

Nidhi Razdan was born on Thursday, 11 April 1974 (age 49 years; as of 2023) in New Delhi. Her native place is Budgam, Central Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir. She did her schooling at Apeejay School, Sheikh Sarai, New Delhi. She pursued a bachelor’s degree at Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi. In 1998, she pursued a Post- Graduate Diploma in Radio and TV Journalism at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi.

Her father’s name is Maharaj Krishan Razdan, he was the editor-in-chief of the Press Trust of India. Her mother’s name is Sarla Razdan.

She got married to journalist and radio storyteller Neelesh Misra in 2005; however, the couple divorced in 2007.
Relationships/Affairs
In 2011, there were rumours that Nidhi Razdan was in a relationship with the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah after he parted ways with his wife, Payal after 17 years of their marriage. Razdan was trolled on social media and even claimed to be married to Abdullah; however, she denied all the claims.

Career
Nidhi Razdan joined NDTV in 1999 as an anchor and news reporter. She is primarily known for hosting the news show ‘Left, Right & Centre’ on NDTV 24×7, an English-language news channel.
Some notable news stories covered by her include the India-US nuclear deal, the hijacking of IC 814 in 1999, earthquakes in Gujarat in 2001 and Kashmir in 2005, and the 2005 London bombings. The shows anchored by her on NDTV include prime time news on NDTV 24×7, Left, Right & Centre, India Decides @ 9, The Lead, and The Big Fight.
In June 2020, she resigned from NDTV, but she later re-joined NDTV as an anchor of the prime time show ‘No Spin’ in February 2022. In May 2021, Nidhi became the Director of Strategic Programmes and Outreach at the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, and a visiting faculty at Kautilya School of Public Policy. On 31 January 2023, she took to Instagram to announce her resignation from NDTV.

- In 2009, she was presented with the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism for reporting from Jammu and Kashmir and Northeast India.
- In 2010, she was presented with an award for the ‘Outstanding Media Person’ for excellence in journalism by the state government of Jammu and Kashmir.
- She received the ‘News Show Host of the Year 2010 – English’ at the Indian News Broadcasting Awards in 2010.
- In 2011, Nidhi Razdan received the Teacher’s Achievement Award (TAA) for Communication (Electronic Journalism).
- She won the award for Best Achor at ‘exchange4Media Awards’ in 2011.
- In 2015, she bagged the ‘Delhi’s Most Stylish Women Award’ at HT Style Awards 2015.
Facts/Trivia
- In an interview, Razdan revealed that she wanted to become a doctor when she was a child; however, her father suggested she should pursue some other profession as it would take a lot of time to become a doctor. She further said that she realised that she wanted to become a journalist when she was 18 years old.
- Nidhi Razdan has done ground reporting from many dangerous places such as Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. In an interview, she recalled an incident when she was reporting in Kashmir once, she said that she interviewed people who had crossed the Line of Control (LoC), but later, she was caught on the blacklist and Pakistan banned her visa for five years. She has also done some documentaries after the train bombings in the area of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Tibet, and the UK.
- Her book titled “Left, Right and Centre: The Idea of India,” which she named after her show ‘Left, Right and Centre’ on NDTV 24×7, was published by Penguin Random House India in July 2017. She also presented her book to former President of India Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
- In June 2017, during a debate on the show ‘Left, Right & Centre,’ Nidhi Razdan asked Sambit Patra, an Indian politician, to get out of the show after he made a derogatory remark about NDTV.
- Nidhi Razdan has been a victim of a phishing attack. In June 2020, she took to Twitter to announce her decision to quit NDTV and join Harvard University as an associate professor. However; she later came to know about the fraud that has been done to her and posted a tweet explaining the whole matter.

- In an interview, she revealed that she had been stalked twice by some strangers. She said that a guy once stalked her and started sending predatory messages to her through emails, and he later reached her home. She further revealed that she filed a case against the stalker in court.
- In 2019, NDTV won the IPI India Award for Excellence in Journalism for covering the news of the case of rape and murder of a young girl in Kathua, which was anchored by Nidhi Razdan.
- She likes to play with her pet dogs. According to her, she feels relaxed after spending time with her pets.
