Niranjana Anoop is an Indian actress, who works in Malayalam films. She is a trained Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dancer.

Niranjana Anoop was born on Saturday, 6 February 1999 (age 23 years; as of 2022) in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. She did her schooling at The Choice School, Cochin, Kerala. She pursued graduation in Mass Communications at St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam. She started learning the Kuchipudi dance from class ninth onwards.

Career

Film

In 2015, Niranjana Anoop started her acting career in the Malayalam film, Loham. Ranjith BalaKrishnan, a veteran Indian film director directed this film. She played the role of a naughty youngster in this movie. Some of her other Malayalam films are ‘Puthan Panam’ (2017), ‘Goodalochana’ (2017), ‘C/O Saira Banu’ (2017), ‘Ira’ (2018), ‘Kala Viplavam Pranayam’ (2018), ‘B. Tech’ (2018), ‘Chathur Mukham’ (2021).

Dance

Niranjana Anoop started learning to dance during her school days. She used to perform at various school functions and cultural programs. She started identifying the quality of sound in her mother’s choreography. Niranjana enjoyed choreographing the beats the most. She choreographed and directed the dance drama, ‘Govinda Madhava’ (2018). While portraying Krishna, she quoted,

Initially, I didn’t have Krishna on my mind. I thought of presenting a particular form of Devi, but then I felt that I couldn’t live up to that image at this age.”

  • Niranjana Anoop once stated in an interview that the film ‘Loham’ would always be special for her as it signifies her journey into the Indian Malayalam cinema. She said,

    I was never nervous, but instead had an excitement in my mind. It was a memorable experience to be sharing screen space with Mohanlal.

  • She said that she felt lucky to work with the outstanding performers, ‘Mohanlal’, ‘Mammootty’, and ‘Manju Warrier.’
  • Niranjana mentioned in an interview that she is passionate about dancing. She has been learning the Kuchipudi dance from a very young age. She said,

    I don’t participate in competitions but do take part in cultural programmes.”

  • Niranjana is a close family friend of the Indian film director, Ranjith BalaKrishnan. She said,

    When Ranjith uncle came to know that I am interested in acting, he gave me an opportunity to act in his film.”
