Parveen Hooda is an Indian amateur boxer, who participates in women’s boxing competitions. In 2023, she won a bronze medal in the women’s 57 Kg semifinal boxing event at the 19th Asian Games.

Parveen Hooda was born on Saturday, 15 April 2000 (age 23 years; as of 2023) in Rurki, Rohtak, Haryana, India. Her zodiac sign is Aries. She studied at Lovely Professional University. While she was studying in school, she developed an interest in boxing. In 2011, she heard the town crier making an announcement about sarpanch Sudhir Hooda establishing a boxing academy in her village, Rurki, near Rohtak. She eagerly asked her father to enroll her in the academy, despite the family’s financial struggles; however, the academy didn’t charge any fees from its trainees.

Career
In 2016, she participated in the Nations Cup Junior held in Ruma, where she defeated boxer Vilma Viitanen. In 2017, she competed in the final boxing match at the Ahmet Comert Youth Tournament; however, she lost the match. She competed against Ankushita Boro at the 2022 Indian National Championships. In 2023, she took part in the 19th Asian Games and lost to two-time world champion Lin Yu-ting, a Taiwanese boxer, in the women’s 57kg semifinal match.
In 2023, she qualified to represent India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Her stance in the games is Orthodox.

- In an interview, she revealed that during the initial days of her boxing career, her father did not want her to pursue boxing as a career; however, her mother always supported her. She said,
My family isn’t well-to-do. We have only a little land which is barren and my father is a heart patient and cannot work. We have one buffalo whose milk we sell. It was difficult for my mother to raise our family with that money. But she always made sure to support me.”
