Pranshu (2007-2023) was an Indian social media influencer who made headlines after he committed suicide. He openly identified as transgender and supported the Pride movement.

Pranshu (Queer) aka Priyanshu Yadav aka Priyanshu Yaduvanshi aka Pranshu Yadav was born in 2007 (age 16 years; at the time of death) in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, India. He attended Ujjain Public School, Ujjain for his schooling. While studying in school, he became a social media influencer.

Family
Parents & Siblings
His father’s name was Rajendra Yadav, and his mother’s name was Preeti Yadav who is a medical representative. Priyanshu’s parents got separated in 2019 after which Priyanshu started to live with his mother. He was the only child of his parents.

He followed Hinduism and was a follower of Lord Krishna.
Gender Orientation/Sexual Identity
Pranshu was a queer. His mother said that when Pranshu was studying in the 9th standard, he told her that he liked both girls and boys.
Career
Social Media Influencer
He started making Instagram videos in 2021 where he often taught makeup. His mother was surprised when he told her that he wanted to be a makeup artist; however, she approved of his passion as she was amazed by the work of Pranshu’s favourite makeup artist and YouTuber, James Charles.
Over time, he became popular for his makeup tutorials and often promoted many makeup brands on his Instagram page ‘Glamitupwithpranshu.’ At the time of his death, he had more than 25 thousand followers on his Instagram page.

He had inked a tattoo on his upper chest.
Death
Pranshu posted a video on Instagram on the occasion of the Diwali festival in 2023 in which he wore a saree for which he was trolled by many people.
He committed suicide on 21 November 2023, at the age of 16 years, by hanging himself with his mother’s dupatta at his home. He was studying in 10th standard at that time. Allegedly, he took this extreme step due to the hateful comments and trolling he faced on his social media handles. After his death, many LGBTQ+ groups took to social media to demand justice and mourned his death. Several rallies were also taken out to pay tribute to Pranshu. His mother said after his death that she was proud of her son and felt alone after his death.
Trinetra Haldar Gummaraju, the transgender Indian actor and content creator, posted on Instagram that social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are unsafe for LGBTQ+ people.
