R Badree is an Indian Youtuber and actor who is best known for appearing in Prime Video’s web series The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye (2020) and the Indian sports film ’83’ (2021).

R Badree was born on 11 February, and he hails from Chennai in Tamil Nadu, India. His zodiac sign is Aquarius. He did his schooling at SBOA Matriculation and Higher Secondary School and SBOA School and Junior College, both in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Thereafter, he pursued a course in visual communication at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu. Later, he enrolled in the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, Maharashtra, where he pursued a course in acting.

On 26 April 2021, he got married to the Indian actress Urmila Mahanta who is well known for making her feature film debut with the critically acclaimed 2012 Tamil crime thriller film ‘Vazhakku Enn 18/9.’ The couple got married in a traditional Tamil wedding ceremony in Chennai.

Career

R Badree made his acting debut in 2014 when he starred in the Bengali action drama film ‘Nandigramer Chokher Pani’ (Tears of Nandigram). Based on true events, the film is about the struggle of the villagers of Nandigram, West Bengal, who protected their land, livelihood and identity, by fighting against the construction of a chemical factory in their village.

Thereafter, he worked as a theatre artist for while and polished his acting skills.

He appeared in an advertisement for Amazon India in 2016 and for Myntra in 2017.

In 2017, he came into the spotlight when he featured in several amusing videos like I don’t NEET you (2017), Thozhar Java – AICA (2017), and Cardu mele 16 number (2020), uploaded on the Tamil comedy YouTube channel Temple Monkeys.

He played the role of a co-officer in the Indian-American crime film ‘Line of Descent’ (2019). Set in the backdrop of Delhi, the film centres around three brothers belonging to a dysfunctional mafia family in Delhi who fight over the future of their enterprise, meanwhile an undercover police officer attempts to bring about their downfall.

He played the role of Rajan in Prime Video’s Indian historical action series ‘The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye’ (2020). The film chronicles the stories of Lieutenant Sodhi and his army who fought for Indian Independence during World War II as part of the Indian National Army, led by the Indian nationalist Subhash Chandra Bose.

In 2021, he gained recognition for portraying the role of the former Indian cricketer Sunil Valson (Vally), the 14th man in the Indian cricket team, in the Indian sports film ’83.’ The film is based on the 1983 Cricket World Cup, which India won.
