Rejani Raveendran is an Indo-American college student who has filed a nomination for the Wisconsin Senate seat in the 2024 US election as a Republican candidate.


Rejani Raveendran was born in 1983 in Kerala. She pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Certificate in International Relations at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point from 2021 to 2024.

Rejani announced her candidacy for a Senate seat in Wisconsin on 8 August 2023, becoming the first Republican to challenge incumbent Democrat Senator Tammy Baldwin. The primary election in Wisconsin for senators are scheduled to occur in the first half of 2024. Baldwin is the first openly LGBT woman elected to the House of Representatives in 1999 and to the Senate in 2013.

While announcing her candidacy she said,

I am not a politician. I don’t want to be a politician. I am a regular person who knows the situations in regular people’s lives.”

According to the United States Constitution, there are three eligibility requirements for becoming a senator: the individual must be at least 30 years old, have held U.S. citizenship for at least 9 years, and be a resident of the state they wish to represent. Rejina, who acquired U.S. citizenship in 2015, is supposed to meet the 9-year requirement in 2024, making her eligible to run for Senate.

In an interview, Raveendran stated that her campaign would focus on securing the border, cracking down on illicit drugs such as fentanyl, stopping illegal immigration, advocating for medical freedom, and protecting children’s innocence against the “woke agenda”. She expressed concerns about adverse reactions to the coronavirus vaccine.
