Rema Lahiri was born into a family of musicians. Her father, Bappi Lahiri, was a popular Veteran Bollywood singer, actor, producer, composer, and record producer. Her mother’s name is Chitrani Lahiri, and she is a film producer.

Rema lost her father, Bappi Lahiri, on 15 February 2022. He was suffering from obstructive sleep apnea and recurrent chest infection and his health was declining with a massive speed. The doctor at the Criticare Hospital, Juhu, Mumbai, who was examining the singer said,

He was hospitalised in Criticare Hospital, Juhu for 29 days with this. He recovered well and was discharged home on 15 February. However, after a day at home, his health again deteriorated and he was brought back to Criticare hospital Juhu in a critical state and succumbed to his illness at about 11:45 pm. He had OSA for the last 1 year. He was admitted on multiple occasions to Criticare Hospital under treatment of Dr. Deepak Namjoshi and recovered on all occasions.”

Rema Lahiri was the last person to have an interaction with her father and he left the world collapsing in her arms.

Rema Lahiri has a younger sibling, Bappa Lahiri. He is a music director.

Rema Lahiri is married to Govind Bansal, a singer and stage performer. He is also a businessman by profession. The marriage took place on 5 August 2009 in their hometown Mumbai, Maharashtra.
