Rick Allen Biography
Rick Allen (Rick Allen Schwieger) an American television personality, play-by-play announcer, and voice-over artist. He works for NBC Sports as the play-by-play announcer for NASCAR’s Cup Series and Xfinity and interned on basis for the International Motor Sports Association, and for NBC Sports coverage of track & field.
He previously had done play-by-play broadcasting for Fox Sports’s coverage of NASCAR’s Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series and voice-over work for Goodyear, Sears, Alltel, and Toyota including others.

Allen was born on 17 June 1969, in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Allen worked as a public address announcer for the University of Nebraska athletic department after his graduation. He as well worked at a local dirt oval racetracks including Eagle Raceway, where Fox Sport got him.
He also worked for Fox Sports as of 2003 to mid-2014, mainly calling NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series and ARCA Racing Series races on SPEED and there after Fox Sports 1. He as well covered Nationwide Series (now Xfinity Series) events on occasion.
He began serving as the lead announcer for NASCAR on NBC beginning in 2015 on December 4, 2013. Working at Fox, he hosted the regular studio program NASCAR America for NBC in early 2014.
He as well revealed during the Truck Series Eldora race on July 23, 2014, that it would be his last race on Fox Sports, as he was now only affiliated with NBC. He earned a standing ovation at the Truck Series drivers’ meeting before the race due to his work was with the Truck Series. Steve Byrnes replaced him before Byrnes died of head and neck cancer in April 2015.
Allen later joined the Verizon IndyCar Series on NBC broadcast team for select Verizon IndyCar Series events starting at Phoenix in 2016, filling in for regular IndyCar play-by-play announcer Leigh Diffey, who was working on NBC’s Formula One coverage at the time.
