Rituraj Singh (1964-2024) was an Indian actor and television host. He primarily worked in Bollywood films. On 19 February 2024, he died after suffering a heart attack at his house in Mumbai.

Rituraj Singh was born Rituraj Singh Chandrawat Sisodia on Saturday, 23 May 1964 (age 59 years; at the time of death) in Kota, Rajasthan, India. His zodiac sign is Gemini. He did his schooling at Modern School on Barakhamba Road in New Delhi, India. He moved to the United States from Kota, Rajasthan, during his school days.

He returned to India when he was 12 years old and started learning theatre. Later, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the Hindu College, University of Delhi. Singh then worked in theatre in Delhi for 12 years with Barry John’s Theatre Action Group (TAG).

Television

In 1989, he made his television debut with the television series ‘In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones’ as Arjun Kamat. In 1993, he played the role of Vikram in the television series Banegi Apni Baat.

In 1999, Rituraj Singh worked as a host in the Hindi TV game show, Tol Mol Ke Bol, which was aired on Zee TV. In 2001, he acted as Ajay Mittal in the TV series Kutumb on Sony Entertainment Television. In 2004, he played the role of Sanjay Doshi in the television show Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii on Star Plus.

In 2009, he played the role of Deven in some episodes of CID on Sony Entertainment Television. In 2011, he appeared as Kala Diwan Chandela in Zee TV’s show Hitler Didi. During the same year, he played the role of Mahendra Singh in the serial Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus.

In 2013, Rituraj Singh appeared in Ekk Nayi Pehchaan as Sharda’s professor. Next year, he played Rajesh Vatsal in Satrangi Sasural. In 2023, he played the role of Yashpal in the serial Anupamaa on Star Plus.

In 1992, he made his film debut with the Indian English language film Miss Beatty’s Children.

In 2010, he made his Hindi language debut with the film Hum Tum Aur Ghost as Boxer Aslam. He then played the role of Ambernath Bansal in the film Badrinath Ki Dulhania in 2017.

Death

Rituraj Singh passed away on 19 February 2024, at the age of 59, due to cardiac arrest at his house in Lokhandwala, Mumbai. Before his death, he had been undergoing treatment for pancreatic ailments.

  • Before Shah Rukh Khan joined the same classes, Rituraj Singh had been a student at the ‘Barry John Acting Classes’ in New Delhi for five years. Shah Rukh Khan reportedly admired Rituraj Singh’s acting during their time at Barry John Acting Classes, and Rituraj was also called Shah Rukh Khan’s doppelgänger during that time.
