Robert’s interest in his current career began after seeing Muddy Waters, Freddie King and Albert in a concert and decided to form his own band, at the age of twenty. Cray collaborated with Curtis Salgado and formed the Robert Cray Band. Robert was the uncredited bassist in Otis Day and the Knights. In 180. Robert released the album Who’s Been Talkin’ under Tomato Records. Cray released the albums, High To0ne Records, Bad Influence and False Accusations in the mid-1989, which were received moderately in the United States.
