Sameer Vidwans was born on Wednesday, 24 September 1980 (aged 43 years; as of 2023) in Pune, Maharashtra, India. He did his schooling at M.S.S High School in Pune and enrolled himself in the University of Pune for graduation. In 2005, Vidwans pursued his passion for filmmaking and went to study at the Film and Television Institution of India.

Films
Sameer Vidwans made his directorial debut with the Marathi film ‘Time Please’ (2013). He gained popularity through some of his notable films including ‘Double Seat’ (2015), ‘Mala Kahich Problem Nahi’ (2017), and ‘Anandi Gopal’ (2019) which was a biopic of the first Indian female doctor of Western medicine, portrayed by Bhagyashree Milind.
In 2023, he directed the film ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ starring Kartik Aryan and Kiara Advani in lead roles.
