Shubham Dubey is an Indian cricketer who has played for Vidarbha in domestic cricket. He made headlines in 2023 after he was acquired by Rajasthan Royals for the 2024 IPL season.

Shubham Dubey was born on Saturday, 27 August 1994 (age 29 years; as of 2023) in Yavatmal, Maharashtra, India. His zodiac sign is Virgo. His family later moved to Vaishali Nagar, Nagpur. He was good in his studies and also had an interest in playing cricket since his teenage years. He later became a professional cricketer.

His father, Badri Prasad Dubey, owned a paan (betel) shop in the Kamal Square area of Nagpur which later got shut down. His mother, Jayshree, is a homemaker. He has a brother who works at a private company.

Career
Domestic
During his teenage years, Shubham started playing in local tennis-ball tournaments and trained under Rohit Kesarwar. His financial condition was not very good, and he found it hard to continue playing the sport.
He later got in touch with an advocate named Sujit Jaiswal who used to run a cricket club named Advocate XI Cricket Club. Jaiswal helped Dubey with cricket kit and equipments such as gloves and pads. Jaiswal also took care of his diet. Jaiswal died in 2021 due to COVID-19.
Dubey played for Under-19, Under-23 and ‘A’ Division teams for Eleven Star Cricket Club in the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Leagues. When he started playing for the Vidarbha Under-23 team, he made up his mind to become a professional cricketer.
Later, he came to know about the Times Shield tournament in Mumbai from the former Vidarbha wicketkeeper, Aniruddha Chore. He used to earn around Rs 10,000 per month and played for six months in Mumbai and the rest six months in tennis ball tournaments in Nagpur and its neighbouring areas.
Dubey played for the Royal Cricket Association Club after he was informed about the club by his friend and a cricketer, Rohit Kaisalwar. Shubham played for Rangrez Brush in the Arjun Aamdar Chashak tournament in 2019 and Eleven Warrior Dubai in the YSBS Gondia tournament in 2020. He represented VCA Team Green in the VCA T20 Tournament in 2021.

In 2021, he started playing for Vidarbha in the domestic circuit and later played for them in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT). In the 2023 SMAT season, he scored 225 runs in 7 matches at an average of 73.76 and a strike rate of 187.28. During the match against Bengal, he hit the joint-fastest fifty for Vidarbha by scoring 58 runs in 20 balls which included 3 fours and 6 sixes.
Leagues
Indian Premier League (IPL)
During the auction for the 2024 IPL season, he was acquired by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for Rs 5.8 crores against his base price of Rs 20 lakhs. He expressed happiness after the auction and said that he was hopeful that he would become a member of any IPL franchise; however, he did not expect to be auctioned off for such a huge amount.
