She did her schooling at Miranda High School, Kolkata, West Bengal. Later, she pursued a B. A. in History, Fashion Designing & Theatre at the University of Mumbai, Mumbai.

Career

Theatre

Joshi started her career as a theatre artist. She has performed in various Marathi theatre plays like Baiko Asun Shejari, Wadhta Wadhta Wadhe, Bol Bachchan, and Choukon.

Film

In 2005, she made her Marathi film debut with ‘Zuluk’ in which she played the role of Teju.

She has appeared in a few Marathi films like ‘Waras Sarech Saras’ (2006).

At the beginning of her acting career, she appeared in various Zee Marathi TV serials like ‘Eka Shwasache Antar’ and ‘Paoos Yeta Yeta.’

Some of her other Zee Marathi TV serials are ‘Aakash Peltana’ (2003; Zee Marathi), and ‘Gahire Paani’ (2005).

She has also appeared in Zee TV’s Hindi serials ‘Mohandas B.A.L.L.B.’ (1997) and ‘Parrivaar – Kartavya Ki Pariksha’ (2007).

However, she came into the limelight with SAB TV’s Hindi sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ (2008) in which she played the role of Madhavi “Madhu” Aatmaram Bhide.

She hosted the SAB Ke Anokhe Awards (fourth year) in 2015. In 2021, she appeared as a guest in a few Hindi TV shows like ‘India’s Best Dancer’ and ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati.’ She has worked as a model in various photoshoots.
