Ujjwala Raut, on Saturday, 19 June 2004 got married to a British model-turned-entrepreneur, Craig Maxwell Sterry. Modelling

Ujjwala Raut started her modeling career at the age of 17 by participating in the Femina Miss India 1996 where she won the title of “Femina Look of the Year.” Ujjawal was interested in modeling since her childhood and hence the 17-year-old student started giving auditions.

In 1996, Ujjawala Raut participated in the Elite Model Look Contest,  a yearly fashion modeling event held by Elite Model Management, an international model management group. The purpose of the contest is to discover and launch female fashion models in the international fashion marketplace. Ujjawala was able to achieve a position among the top 15 contestants of the contest. The contest proved to be a life-changing experience for her. She was signed by many international brands for the modeling assignments.

Ujjwala Raut has walked the runway for many renowned International designers like Yves Saint-Laurent, Roberto Cavalli, Hugo Boss, Cynthia Rowley, Diane von Furstenberg, Dolce & Gabbana, Betsey Johnson, Gucci, Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, and Emilio Pucci. She is known as the most successful overseas supermodel from India.

Ujjawala also got the opportunity to walk the runway for “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” for two consecutive years, 2002 and 2003.

In 2012, Ujjawala judged and hosted the  Kingfisher Calendar Hunt 2012 with model Milind Soman.

Ujjwala Raut made her television debut with the  Indian reality television series MTV Supermodel of the Year in the year 2019. Ujjwala was a mentor for the model in the show. She trained the girls in every way possible to enhance their modeling abilities.

Controversy

Ujjwala Raut was in the news headlines when her husband, Craig Maxwell Sterry accused her of using her influential power for winning the custody of her daughter, Ksha. According to her husband, she was using her influence for the cancellation of his POI card. Ujjawala on the other hand denied all the allegations.
