Varun Tej is an Indian actor, who mainly works in Telugu films. He is the son of the famous South Indian actor and producer Nagendra Babu. He is the paternal cousin of the Indian actor Ram Charan.

Varun dated Lavanya for a long period before marrying her in 2023. They first met while working together in the film ‘Mister’ in 2017. According to reports, they became close friends during the filming process and their friendship eventually turned into a romantic relationship. However, they decided to keep their relationship a secret for a long time. It was only during the shooting of their second film ‘Antariksham 9000 KMPH’ that rumours about their relationship started to circulate. As time went on, they started attending events and parties together, which further fueled speculation about their relationship. Lavanya was even present at Varun’s sister Niharika Konidela‘s wedding in 2020, along with other celebrities. Apparently, it was Varun who took their relationship to the next level by proposing marriage to Lavanya on her birthday. Film

In 2000, he made his debut as a child actor with the Telugu film ‘Hands Up!’ in which he played the role of Varun.

After almost 14 years, he made his film debut as a lead actor with the Telugu film ‘Mukunda’ in which he played the titular role.

Some of his other Telugu films are ‘Fidaa’ (2017), ‘Tholi Prema’ (2018), ‘Gaddalakonda Ganesh’ (2019), and ‘F3: Fun and Frustration’ (2022).

Other Work

In 2019, he appeared as a guest in the reality TV show named Bigg Boss Telugu Season 3, which aired on Star Maa.

He worked as a producer in the Telugu film ‘Suryakantham’ (2019). In 2022, he penned down the script of the Telugu music video ‘Tejas Kolekar.’ Varun has also appeared in a few TV commercials like SS Gold TMT Steel Bars.

• In an interview, he shared how he started his acting career. He said,
  

  It wasn’t an overnight decision to become an actor. One day pedananna (Chiranjeevi) and I went to watch Magadheera’s shooting. At that time somebody clicked my photo and pedananna saw it and told me to try working in films as he felt my face was photogenic.

• For one of his films, he shed around 40 kg of his body weight. Earlier, he used to weigh around 120 kg.

• In his leisure time, he loves to travel and read books.

• In June 2019, the local police in Wanaparthy district took legal action against the driver of Varun Teja’s car for overspeeding. On 12 June 2019, in a car accident in Rayanipeta, Wanaparthy district, the Mercedes Benz car that Varun Teja was in crashed into a Tata Indica car. The driver of the Indica turned left towards Rayanipeta village, and because the Benz car was going too fast, the driver couldn’t slow down in time. The local police reported that the four people in the Indica car had minor injuries, while Varun and three others were not hurt. Varun was on his way from Hyderabad to Bengaluru with his driver and two others for a film shoot. While addressing the media, the local police said,
