Wanda Vázquez Garced (born July 9, 1960) is a Puerto Rican politician and attorney who has been the Governor of Puerto Rico since August 7, 2019. Prior to her tenure as governor, she served as secretary of justice from 2017 to 2019. A member of the New Progressive Party and Republican Party of Puerto Rico, Vázquez Garced is the second female governor in Puerto Rico history after Sila María Calderón, who was governor from 2001 to 2005.
