Yasser Usman is an Indian journalist, news presenter, biographer, and producer. He is widely known as one of the India’s most successful ‘unauthorised’ biographers. Yasser Usman was born on Monday, 2 February 1987 (age 36 years; as of 2023) in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. His zodiac sign is Aquarius. After completing his schooling in various cities of Uttar Pradesh, he moved to Delhi to pursue higher education.
He pursued a Bachelor’s of Science degree at Ramjas College in the University of Delhi from 1997 to 2000. He later pursued a Master’s of Science degree in Ecology and Environment at the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMU). Anchor & Producer
Yasser started his television career in 2002 with the renowned television company B.A.G Films, he produced numerous acclaimed TV shows and documentaries, including the successful crime show ‘Red Alert.’ He joined the creative programming team of Channel 7 (IBN7) in 2005 and produced India’s first reality sports show, titled ‘Speedster’ which was hosted by renowned cricketers Wasim Akram and Ajay Jadeja. He later hosted a weekly film review show called ‘Premier 7.’ He demonstrated his creative skills by writing and directing the investigative show ‘RAAZ- forensic files se,’ which offered a weekly dramatic representation of landmark forensic investigations in India.
Yasser collaborated with the well-known journalist Anirudh Bahl on his investigative show ‘Benaqab’ (Star News). He served as the creative consultant for the humorous talk show ‘The Tony B Show’ on Channel V in 2006. His career took him to join the top news channel of India, Star News, in 2007, where he became an integral part of its non-fiction programming team. In his role as a senior professional in the non-fiction programs division of ABP News, Yasser planned and conceptualized popular content and shows for the channel.
He directed documentaries on a wide range of topics, including significant events like 9/11 (102 minutes-from Ground Zero, New York) and 26/11, as well as documentaries on sports, films, and biographies of political and film personalities. Some of Usman’s successful shows include ‘Benaqaab,’ ‘Poll Khol,’ ‘Mera Naam Joker,’ ‘Love Story,’ ‘Jaane Bhi Do,’ and ‘Second Opinion’ (as a writer). He also worked on reality shows such as ‘Star Anchor Hunt’ (as Executive Producer-Creatives) and ‘Cricket, Camera, Action’ (on IPL). Yasser’s portfolio includes investigative features like ‘Gangajal,’ focusing on Ganga Pollution, and biographies of political and film personalities. Controversies
Sanjay Dutt’s Biography
After Yasser released biography of Sanjay Dutt in 2018, Dutt criticised Yasser and threatened a legal action against him and the publisher, Juggernaut Books. Dutt claimed that the biography has facts based on hearsay and unverified sources. In response, Juggernaut Books responded by saying that they were equally sorry for the situation.
Rekha’s Live-in relationship
In July 2023, some reports claimed that Yasser mentioned in Rekha’s biography that she was in a live-in relationship with her secretary, Farzana. Yasser completely disregarded this fact and claimed that it was a misrepresentation of facts.
It’s despicable how clickbait journalism has an aversion towards verifying facts. And most often they target women.
